Kay Jones > This photo was taken in the Petrified Forest-Painted Desert National Park in AZ in early May 2005. The area was much greener than the past two times I have visited it. More than usual spring rains have supplemented the winter snowfall enabling the spring flowers to bloom. White primroses, yellow mariposa lilies, and gray vervain, which is acutally purple, were numerous. Wooly orange mallows and even a few yellow prickly pear flowers were also seen.
