Friday, August 19, 2005, we took the 104-mile mailboat ride up the Rogue River in Oregon. Out of the smog bank and into the sun, we enjoyed the splashes of the water and the wildlife along the way. Further up the river, we smelled and smoke from the Blossom wildfire. Some 800 firefighters are struggling to control that fire which may burn itself out in late September.
