These photos were taken in
Joshua Tree National Park in CA in May 2005 during a heat wave when temperatures reached 102 F in the late afternoons all three days!
Joshua trees are giant members of the lily family and look like yucca plants on a tree. Most had already bloomed by the time we arrived in mid-May.
