I collected some photos of fall foliage while visiting family and friends in OH, PA, MD, and WV in Fall of 2004. I added some more photos taken in VA during the Fall of 2005 and 2006.

Kay Jones > This is a photo of the Humpback Bridge in Covington, VA. This is the oldest of Virginia's covered bridges built in 1857. Three other bridges preceded this one. Two were washed away by floods and the other one just "gave way." This bridge is 100-foot-long, single-span, and 4 feet higher in the middle than it is on either end. It was replaced by a steel bridge in 1929 then used to store a farmer's hay until it was rescued by a local women's civic group.

Kay Jones > Becky Woodson's red Japanese maple tree is more than 50 years old. Even though it lives under the shade of two big oak trees and the sky was cloudy, its leaves were still shining bright, like Becky's personality.
